How to achieve that drop dead gorgeous look

December 20, 2017 in Beauty
Drop dead gorgeous look

Merry Christmas! As we get busier and busier with each day (all that cleaning and baking to be done!) it can be so easy to forget to look after yourself. Which is why I am so thankful that the lovely Scarlet got in touch with me offering to write a post with tips on how to achieve a drop dead gorgeous look. We all want to look good, especially this time of the year, right? I absolutely love this post as it consists of simple tips that we can often forget about (I know I do). Happy reading!

Drop dead gorgeous look

Do you want to achieve that drop dead gorgeous look that all women are dreaming of? If yes, then you have to pay attention to various aspects of your appearance instead of only taking care of what you should wear. And even though this requires a lot of effort from you, we’re here to help you with a few ideas and some useful advice on this topic. Let’s take a look at five important rules that every woman should know.

Wear what looks good on you

Drop dead gorgeous look

“Follow the latest trends” is what many consider to be an ultimate solution for a drop dead gorgeous look. However, does dressing according to the latest fashion really guarantee that you’ll look breathtaking? No – not every fashion style suits everybody. So, instead of following these trends blindly, choose the clothes that suit your figure the best. Furthermore, try to decide whether you should wear warm or cooler tones depending on your complexion since such a small detail can make a big difference in the way your skin looks. Here is a simple and fun test for that.

Don’t even think about leaving your house without an accessory

Drop dead gorgeous look

Did you leave the house this morning without any accessories? Next time consider adding a little bit of sparkle. No matter whether you are dressing for work, a night out in a fancy club or for a dinner with your friends, at least one accessory is a must. For example, you can go for a nice statement necklace which will draw attention to your face or pick out an interestingly-patterned hat which will make you look elegant and sophisticated. Finally, if you want to sweep everybody off their feet, opt for designer Ray-Ban glasses which will add that final touch to your outfit.

Take good care of your skin

Drop dead gorgeous look

You may have the best clothes and jewellery in the world, but if your skin looks dry and lifeless, the effect will be ruined. Therefore, it’s high time you devoted some attention to your skincare routine. First of all, you have to use a moisturizer on a daily basis, especially during the winter when our skin dries out quicker than ever. However, make sure to find the right one for your skin type. Furthermore, don’t forget to wash your face with warm water every evening since it will open your pores allowing you to clean your face thoroughly from all the makeup residue, and thus avoid acne outbursts. Finally, DIY face masks can do wonders for your skin as well, so, don’t shy away from trying out a few simple recipes.

Keep your hair healthy and stylish

Drop dead gorgeous look

If you want to look truly amazing, you have to take care of your hair as well. Nothing is worse than seeing a woman with greasy hair since, no matter how great she looks, this will signal to others that she doesn’t care enough about her personal hygiene. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you should wash it every day since too much washing can strip your hair of its natural oils and dry out your scalp. Furthermore, think about which hairstyle suits your facial shape the most and what parts of your face you want to accentuate. For example, if your face is round, wearing your hair in a ponytail will only highlight your cheekbones even more. On the other hand, nice layers would be the best choice since they would make your face look longer and more symmetrical.

Be yourself – show your energy

Drop dead gorgeous look

Finally, in order to provoke that wow effect, you have to work on your inner beauty as well. Don’t shy away from expressing your energy and showing everybody who you really are since nothing can put people off more than a person who is acting fake. Additionally, make sure to eat healthily and be physically active because if you don’t feel well, you won’t look good either. Therefore, it’s high time you found a physical activity that suits you the most. For example, you can opt for a gym if you like to play it safe, or try out some crazy alternatives like hula hooping, dancing or stair running.

As you can see, a road to a drop dead gorgeous look is a long one. However, if you’re ready to work hard on yourself and make a few changes in your lifestyle, we guarantee that the results will be visible soon. Finally, keep in mind that beauty comes from the inside as well, so make sure to develop your personality and show everybody who you really are.

I love all of these tips! Taking good care of your skin and hair is definitely essential! When I’m having a good hair day I feel so much better about myself and I think that other people can also tell that. I’ve always had my own style and although I don’t follow trends I try to find pieces that might be trendy at the moment but also feel me 🙂 x

Getting my hair done is honestly the biggest confidence boost for me! Nothing better than fresh roots 🙂 I also agree about skincare being super important, I can’t have my skin looking dry and horrible it just ruins all your makeup and everything! I never think about accessorizing though, definitely something I can improve on!

It doesn’t have to be anything big, maybe little stud earrings or a couple of rings, it can make such a difference!

The only reason I like cold weather is the fact that I can wrap myself in a colorful scarf. That totally lifts my spirits.

I was leary popping into the blog as I am not a makeup/fashion person. Really just lipstick but this was great as beauty does come from within and eating, skin, exercise goes a long way as does attitude. Yes to wearing from looks good on you and a little accessory (for me ear rings). Thank you.

Thank you! I don’t wear makeup very often so I always try to look after my looks from the inside mainly to make sure I’ll feel comfortable without it.

Yes, I also think that energy plays a big role in the perception of beauty, personality is what makes you stand out.
