I finally got round to writing down my goals for 2019! Better late than never. Now that they are on paper I have no excuses but move my behind and get to work. 2018 was filled with some really good highs but at the same time some very deep lows. By October I found myself extremely anxious and annoyed by virtually everything. Luckily for me, I was able to go back home for 3 weeks in December where I could slow down and reevaluate my life and where I wanted to take it. It was refreshing and set me up for a positive start of 2019. Want to know what I’ve got in store for this year? Keep on reading. And I’ll keep coming back to this post throughout the year to remind myself to stick to what I set out for myself. Let’s do this!
Side note: these are not New Year resolutions. I used to make up various resolutions before (including going to the gym more and losing weight because it seemed like everyone was doing it) but it only made me feel horrible and not good enough. It’s great if they work for you. They’re just not really my thing. I simply believe that if you want to start something or want a change in your life any time is good to start, not just January 1st. So I make vague plans that I adjust throughout the year.
Blogging
I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half now and I’m very proud of what I’ve accomplished in this time. But there is always room for improvement and growth. This year I’m planning to take my photography to a new level. After purchasing my camera last year, my skills definitely improved, however, I want to keep learning and improving. With a new lense currently winking at me from a shelf, I’m more than ready and excited to get back on track with what I was planning before.
As my blog is slowly turning into my job (hip hip hooray) I’m planning on taking it even further. I have made my media kit which I’m finally proud of and am ready to start reaching out to brands myself. I’m sure the first ‘no’s will be a difficult pill to swallow, but I’ve got a lot of determination in me. The Glass of Class is my little baby and I want nothing but the best for it. If you’re a brand and would like to contact me, please click here. If you’re a brand but don’t feel like messaging me, please wait and I’ll contact you myself. And for you, who are reading this post – thank you. I cannot put into words how much it means to me. It’s thanks to you that I can grow my passion and take on this exciting path. I wouldn’t be able to do this without you.
Fashion
So far you could have called my fashion sense as “safe and predictable”. Not that there is anything wrong with that but I do still have some clothes from secondary school that went out of fashion years ago and these ones will definitely not make a comeback. Why do I keep them? I know they’re good clothes and they’ve served me all those years. But they definitely do not feel like ME anymore. This year I want to take my wardrobe in a new direction and finally start buying outfits that I like the look of. I’m fed up of wearing the same two outfits all the time because I’m not brave enough to try something else. So watch this space as I go on an adventure to the new lands of fashion and discover its deepest secrets. God, I’m so cringy. Let’s move on.
Personal life
For me, 2019 has one word written all over it – TRAVEL. So far I’ve got one trip planned in February. Nothing extra exciting, I’m going to visit my sister and auntie in Poland, but it feels different since I won’t actually be traveling to my home town. After that, all I’ve got is vague ideas of where I want to go. On the list, there are Amsterdam, Athens and maybe one of the Greek islands if my funds allow that. I’m crossing my fingers really hard and hoping that my budgeting skills will let me save up enough money to broaden my horizons this year.
Another big plan for me this year is to start a masters degree. It’s a decision that has taken me 3 years to make as I was scared I’d choose a wrong course again and would end up with another diploma in an area I wasn’t interested working in. Sorry, Early Childhood, it was fun while it lasted, but it’s time to move on. It’s not you, it’s me and my bad decision-making back in the day. Hello, Creative Writing, I’m sure we’ll have a lot of fun times ahead of us. I’m very excited to start this new chapter in my life and this path feels a lot closer to my heart and passion. Fingers crossed everything works out well and in 2 years time, I’ll be a qualified writer!
With January being nearly finished, I can say this year is off to a quite productive start. I’m definitely hoping spring will come sooner rather than later because my creativity blooms when the sun shines outside. Let me know in the comments what plans and hopes you’ve got for the year ahead and how you’re going to work for them!
2019, I’m so ready for you!
Until next time xx

These are some great ideas for 2019. I need to take my blog photography further this year, especially when it comes to food. I’ve been thinking about a food photography course so we’ll see.
I know what you mean about fashion and style as I tend to wear the same clothes all the time. It’s almost like a uniform that I very rarely mix up!
Good luck with your masters degree. Have you chosen a course you’d like to do yet?
Food photography course sounds so interesting!
Thank you! I have chosen Creative Writing, which is so much closer to my heart than my bachelor’s degree which was in Education. Fingers crossed it will work out better for me as well xx
