With 2017 coming to an end, we all start wondering what the new year will bring into our lives. I know one thing for sure – no matter what life throws at you, you should always feel your best. And what’s a better way to feel like you’re the king/queen of the world (insert a gif of Jack Dawson at the front of Titanic)? When you feel good about yourself, it definitely shows so today I’m bringing to you another guest post from Amy Mia (you can read her previous one here) – the 5 beauty treatments that should be on your radar in 2018! So grab a cup of hot chocolate (it’s still winter after all) and let’s get started!
The year 2018 is going to be the year of beauty. It’s going to be the year to pamper yourself, to enjoy the way you look, and to indulge in some cool treatments that you’ve been meaning to try forever. We love all the options that we have nowadays, with most of them simple and quick to do, requiring nothing more than a trip to your favourite cosmetic clinic. For all the ladies who seek to enjoy some nice beauty treatments that are absolutely non-invasive and safe, we offer a list of the five most popular ones that we love and that are bound to help you feel gorgeous!
Infrared sauna
Sweating it out in a good sauna has long been considered as one of the best ways to help your body get rid of various toxins, but now the deal is becoming even better. Infrared saunas not only help with detoxification and skin purification, but they improve your circulation and can aid weight loss. But hold on, it gets even better – they help chronic pain. Anyone suffering from spinal injuries, joint aches, fibromyalgia, and even menstrual cramps can benefit from this soothing treatment that is also relatively inexpensive. We recommend it to pretty much anyone just because it feels so relaxing and enjoyable.
Laser hair removal
How much money do you spend on waxing and shaving yearly? How much time? Before every big event, you know you have to schedule a waxing appointment if you want smooth skin or spend at least half an hour in the shower, ridding yourself of hair and leaving red bumps and tiny scratches behind. While laser hair removal isn’t cheap, it’s a good investment. You should know that you will require several treatments to get lasting results, but once you’re done, you’ll be very happy with the results! No more razor cuts, no more ingrown hairs, no more time wasted on shaving, waxing, and plucking.
Microdermabrasion
It is one of the most popular celebrity treatments. The entire Hollywood is crazy about microdermabrasion, and we love it as well because it’s an excellent choice for anyone who wants to smooth out their skin and get rid of scars and wrinkles. It rids you of the outer layer of your skin and removes all the dead cells and flaky bits, leaving young, fresh, unblemished skin underneath. Bear in mind that you will experience some facial redness and irritation after it is done, but these are completely normal and go away pretty quickly.
You want to take good care of your skin for a few days and use nourishing products to help soothe it. Apply sunscreen generously after the procedure because microdermabrasion increases skin’s photosensitivity. Also, make sure you use a quality oil, like The Swisse Cranberry Antioxidant Facial Oil, to soothe your skin and reduce redness. Avoid staying out in the sun for too long and stay hydrated.
Chemical peel
Another excellent procedure with similar results to microdermabrasion. We recommend this to people who are fighting acne because the physician or the cosmetologist applies alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), or phenol to the skin to remove the damaged layers. AHAs are really good at dealing with blemishes, and certain chemical peels can be used to remove or fade out stretch marks as well. The skincare routine after this treatment is similar to the one used after microdermabrasion; it only puts a bit more emphasis on protecting yourself with a high SPF.
Microblading
The thick brow trend doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, but even famous Instagrammers are starting to go easy on the makeup and looking for a more natural look. If you aren’t blessed with Cara Delevingne’s brows, then microblading is something to consider. A pigment is used to draw small hairs on your skin with a hand-held tool, and the result is a semi-permanent tattoo that will look completely natural as long as you pick a well-trained cosmetic artist. You will wake up to amazing brows each morning, and you’ll no longer need to spend time or money on makeup products to fill in the sparseness.
There’s something very uplifting about beauty treatments. Go to a good salon, put yourself in the hands of professionals, and let them make you feel like a goddess!
Thank you, Amy Mia, for this post! I surely learnt something new about beauty treatments myself. I know they may be on a more expensive side, but they can make a great addition to your wishlist as a birthday present or a goal to save up for.
Above all please remember you’re amazing and beautiful and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Hope the year 2018 brings you success in every area of your life, happiness and so much love you cannot imagine. I’ll see you again in the new year!
Until next time xx

It’s 2019, but I think these beauty treatments should still be on my radar.
They definitely are on mine!
I loved reading this post! I have heard of all these things, but only done the sauna thing one time! I love Sauna’s and wish I could have one in my house!
Wouldn’t that be so amazing?!
I’ve always wanted to do microdermabrasion but was always afraid of the redness after! Although it does sound like a good way to get rid of dead skin
As long as you look after your skin properly after the treatment it should be okay!
Love this post! I’ve heard so many great things about microdermabrasion – I have super sensitive skin though so probably best to avoid!x

Yeah, probably would be better to avoid it! But there are still loads of good treatments for sensitive skin 🙂
I loved reading this! I’m so tempted to go for laser as waxing and shaving are so time-consuming. I have really thick eyebrows already so microblading is no necessary! I’d never heard of microdermatisation before!

You’re so lucky with your eyebrows! I had mine overplucked (a beautician did this to me) and I’d love to get a microblading treatment.
I’ve always wondered how laser hair removal works, my best friend gets it done and says it’s really useful! I find shaving quite therapeutic weirdly though haha although it is a pain to do it so often. I love the look of micro bladed brows but i’m not sure if they’d suit me as I already have quite thick and full brows but if I ever messed them up I’d definitely consider it as I think they look lush!

These treatments sound so fancy! Do you recommend a place where you’ve had laser hair removal done? And if so how did it cost you? I’m so scared to get it done but my and my bf want to get it done xx
I do mine at home! I bought Philips Lumea laser hair removal gadget and it’s been working wonders for me. A professional one would probably work a bit better than that but I’m not complaining as it was a one-off payment and now I can use it whenever I need. It is quite pricey but if you find a good deal, it’s so worth it. And it doesn’t hurt half as much as you may think.
In between make up and my favorite skin creams, these suggestions are officially going to keep my bank at zero. I can’t wait to try them out! XOXO.

Haha trust me, my bank account filed for a divorce, I’m so bad with it 😀
I’ve wanted to try laser hair removal for the longest time but I just haven’t really done any research where I should go to get it done! I need to start looking asap! I don’t think I’ve heard of microdermabrasion before, but it sounds really interesting 🙂 x

I do laser removal at home and it makes life so much easier!
I’m not really one for messing with my body too much as far as beauty treatments go but some of these sound really interesting and I know have helped to boost so many peoples’ confidences! I’d love to try out an infrared sauna, meant to help clear your skin out as well which I need haha x

I’ve never really had any treatments myself but I always wanted to try microblading as I know it makes it so much easier to do your makeup!
